Paper Makeup Stamps - Springtime Solids

Hi everyone! Did you see the new release from Paper Makeup Stamps? It was another great one! I've used the new Springtime Solids set on this card today. I tried something a little different on this one...I used a page from a dictionary that I got at the dollar store! I distressed it with Wild Honey distress ink and stamped the stem in certainly celery and the flowers in apricot appeal. On the apricot carstock, I stamped the small flower in apricot appeal to create a pattern. The shabby seam binding is from Debbie Marcinkiewicz's etsy store. On the bow, I added this pretty prima flower. The sentiment, from the Birthday Cheer set from PMS, was stamped in certainly celery.

Super simple card that took about 30-45 minutes to create! Love when that happens! Some of the PMS DT have created cards with some of the new stamps and you can check them out on the PMS blog.

Paper Makeup Stamps Release Day Blog Hop!

Today, I've got the Danny fairy to show you.When I thought of the name "Danny", I thought of a little Irish boy. So I went with this green paper from the Oliver paper pack by Basic Grey. And, of course, I gave him reddish hair! I used the March sketch from Sketch for You to Try. I found it very interesting and it worked perfectly with my image. I added very little embellishments to let the papers and image take center stage. There is also another larger dragonfly available for purchase as well called Danny's Dragonfly. This dragonfly and Danny's wings have star dust stickles on them. The sentiment is from the Little Moments set. I find that really is a great go-to set lately.

You should have been collecting letters along the way to spell out a quote which will get you 15% off the new release. My letter for you today is N.

Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek

Hello friends! Paper Makeup Stamps is in Day 3 of the sneak peeks. Today we are revealing the new Monsters and Retro Critters. I'm here with this funky little bunny named Foo. Cute image, huh? I just love that bubble with the fish in it! Poor Foo looks perplexed by it! That bubble was stamped twice, cut out, and popped up. It also has Crystal Effects on it (as do the other bubbles). I used paper from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper pad, and used the Crazy for Challenge sketch as my starting point. (I made a mistake and cut the papers on the wrong angle.) I chose three colors of baker's twine to tie in the middle. The sentiment comes with these bunny image. It sums up my week for sure! LOL!!!

My Time Made Easy: A Year in Review and Just Us Girls

Hi everyone! It's the weekend! So excited about that! Today is a busy day on the ol' blog. I have a two-fer for you today. My Time Made Easy is doing a Year in Review group post and Just Us Girls has a sketch challenge this week for you...and a great one it is. Let's start with that.Kristin is our hostess this week and supplied this sketch for all of us. Using My Time Made Easy products, I created this card. I used several MTME products on this card. The gingham digi paper is from the Fluttering By digi pack. The daisy is from the Flutters and Flowers cut file. I cut out the smallest one, ran it through the swiss dots embossing folder, and added a yellow crystal bling. The leaves are from the same cut file. The sentiment is from the newly released Keep Strong stamp set. (You'll see why I chose this sentiment in a minute.) I paired all this with SU's Daffodil Delight yellow cardstock. What a pretty color! Here's a closeup of that great sentiment. I just love it!

As many of you know, I'm a teacher. Many school districts are facing major cuts in budgets and my school district is not being spared from these cuts. They are restructuring the entire district and many are losing their jobs. This week, I sat in meetings with my principal and superintendent during which three of my colleagues were told they were losing their jobs...not fun! They are all fantastic teachers and team players. It is such a shame that we are losing them. I wanted to give them something that conveys a "keep strong/stay positive" message. So I created this to go with the card. MTME has a couple of tea themed templates, and I chose to use this one called Tea Tabbed Box. The base of the box is the daffodil yellow, and I decorated each side with the pink gingham digi paper. I purchased some tea bags that are supposed to encourage a positive mood. Here's the original box (you can see my color inspiration) of tea bags I purchased.

Now for the top of the box, I added a beautiful flower using the same Flutters and Flowers cut file.I cut two of the flowers in white and one in the daffodil yellow. They were run throught the swiss dots folder and the petals were curled. The leaves were cut using the same cut file. I added another yellow crystal in the center. I put the tea bags inside and tied it off with a pink grosgrain ribbon.

And finally, here they are together. I have only made the one set...I'll have to get busy and make two more so I can give one to each of the girls. The box comes together surprisingly quickly (if you have a Cricut it's even easier). I hope they like it.

Christmas Stamping All Year Long: How Much Bling Can You Bring?

Hi everyone! I've added another design team to my resume...I'm a member of the Christmas Stamping All Year Long team! I really wanted to be on this team because what better way to get those cards done? Plus, I'm working with some fabulous designers! You can see them on my sidebar. So every Friday from now until November 18, I'll be posting a Christmas card! I hope you join me in these challenges so you can get a head start on those holiday cards!Our first challenge is entitled How Much Bling Can You Bring and we are challenging you to use as much bling on your card as you like! We are sponsored by Pink Cat Studio this week. And the prize....one participant will receive 5 free digi images of their choice!My card uses the oh so cute Kissing Penguins digital image. Aren't they just so adorable? They are colored with copic markers and I added tons of star dust stickles to the hat and hood and the ground under them, but they didn't photograph well. I also added red stickles to the holly berries. The holly leaves were popped up for some dimension. More bling can be found on the red glitter dots...love those things! The papers are from SU's retired Holiday Treasures and Basic Grey's Jovial. The sketch is from this week's Our Creative Corner.

What's Your Angle?

Do you have an angle? We do at My Time Made Easy! One of the new templates from MTME is called What's Your Angle and it's full of just that...angles. Take a look. Let me just begin by saying this is MUCH prettier in person. The colors in this paper are just so soft and pretty! I love this color combo! These papers are in the new Wistful Wonder digital paper pack.

I actually made this template to house a gift certificate to Wegman's, a grocery store here in Western NY. Our school is having a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction tonight and the proceeds go to the Variety Club Telethon (the money raised helps children with special needs and supports our Women's and Children's Hospital). Our 5th grade team always donates something and this year we donated a $50 gift card to Wegman's grocery store.

I typed up the information on my computer and cut it with a tag die, then swirled some pretty-in-pink ink around it. Then I stamped the branch and some flowers and berries from the new Singing Silhouette stamp set. The branch was stamped in always artichoke ink and is a second generation impression to lighten the color. Now how about that bow on top? It's made from the new cut file called Abra-Bow-Dabra. I just cut out two of them to make this beautiful big bow! It's really super easy to create and is a real WOW factor! Love it!

For the Birds: My Time Made Easy's Release Day

I'm so excited for today because it's finally March and it's release day for some fabulous products from My Time Made Easy! If you've been following the sneaks over the last few days, you have seen projects using these amazing products!

Today, the entire MTME DT is doing a group post and we are welcoming my friend and fellow Just Us Girls member, Kathryn Berthiaume as Guest Designer for this month! We've entitled our group post For the Birds because we are all using the new stamp set from MTME called Singing Silhouette. We're making cards and packaging them up in one of the many MTME templates. I've used the Slip Cover template to package up my cards. So here are many pictures to show what I did.I made two of each style using two of the sentiments from the stamp set.

On this one, I started with paper from DCWV called Mariposa. I loved the colors and it had lots of birdcages, birds, and butterflies on it. The base of the card is SU's new Poppy Parade...what a great orangey-red color! Love it! I stamped the perch, the bird, then stamped the large bird cage over it. (There is a cut file called Caged for the large and small bird cages, but I stamped it then hand cut it...I forgot about the cut file!) I layered it on a doily I purchased at the craft store and distressed it with antique linen. I added some gold cord and tied it in a bow and also added a little piece on the top of the cage. I love the "Hope you chirp up!" sentiment!The second card uses a different paper from the Mariposa pack and Poppy Parade cardstock. I cut the branch using the Branching Out cut file (I remembered to use it this time!), reducing it to 75% (I think!). The flowers (in three different sizes) were stamped around the branch. The small bird cage was first cut using the Caged cut file, then stamped in real red ink. I added a piece of gold cord to the top of the cage to make it look like it was hanging from the tree branch. I made a tailored bow with the red grosgrain ribbon and added the sentiment. I made a very simple but elegant box using the Slip Cover template. On the bottom part of the box, I cut a piece of cardstock to fit and ran it through the Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. I really like how elegant it looks. What a nice gift to give to someone. I think this may go to my MIL...she likes to send out cards to lots of people.
