Just Us Girls #677 - Wild Card Week

Hello!  Vicki is our hostess for this week's Just Us Girls challenge.  It's the fifth Saturday in April (where has the time gone?) so we have an extra challenge.  Vicki chose to have you CASE one of the design team members!  This seems like a fun one!

The design team members were able to create any card they wanted for the participants to CASE.  I was very busy this week and didn't get a "new" card done, but I did have this one that I haven't posted.  I participated in a Pink Fresh event a while ago, and this is one of the cards we made.  It uses one of their fabulous stamp/stencil/die sets for the floral images.  I used Pink Fresh inks with the stencil and I think a gray ink for the outline to keep it soft.  The mat is die cut with one of their slimline dies and the sentiment is one of their gold foiled sentiments.  I added gold pearls to complete it.  You can see some dimension with the die cuts.  I added some of them with dimensionals.  I love this card!  That's why I still have it and haven't sent it out to anyone yet!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #676 - CAS Week

Hi friends!  It's CAS Week over at Just Us Girls, and Carol has chosen for us to use food and/or beverages on our cards.  These CAS cards are a challenge for me for sure!

I chose to use this cute punny set from SSS.  I stamped, colored, and die cut the image.  Before adding it to the card, I gave it some pink color to place it on to stand out more.  To give it more interest, I scored some lines in the bottom corner.  The sentiment was stamped, crystals were added and I also added some glossy accents to the donut.  Easy peasy card, but I always feel like it's missing something!

Just Us Girls #675 - Photo/Mood Board Week

This Moodboard for the Just Us Girls challenge this week was so appropriate for today because our weather was almost in the 80's.  Much needed warmth and sunshine here in Western New York!  Nancy is responsible for these beautiful photos and I had so many ideas for this challenge, it was hard to choose!

I settled on these garden tools from The Greetery.  I'd love to have pretty garden tools like these!  I die cut them (3 times for dimension) from white card stock and the handles from lavender card stock.  For the design on the spade, I first used the coordinating stencil then the coordinating stamp set.  The design on the hoe (?) just used the coordinating stamp set.  I noticed some script on the mood board, so I used a light gray ink and a script stamp for the background.  I layered that onto a lavender scalloped mat.  I added the preprinted sentiment strip and purple pearls to finish it as well as some shimmer on the flowers.

Just Us Girls #674 - Word Week

Hello friends!  The Just Us Girls Word Week challenge is hosted by Carol this week, and she has chosen SUNSHINE.  A lot of us in the northern part of the country are certainly looking for some!

I pulled out another stencil for this card.  I used two different yellow inks to ink it up.  I found a stamp set that has this very cute face to stamp on the sun and added some pink cheeks with a copic marker.  The panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  The coordinating die was used to cut it out and I die cut two more pieces to layer it for dimension.  I finished it by matting it on a black piece also die cut with a stitched rectangle and added yellow crystals.

Just Us Girls #673 - Color Week

Hello friends!  Bobby is the hostess for this week's Just Us Girls Color Challenge.  She has chosen terracotta and green.

I initially thought of a plant in a pot (I see some of the other designers had the same idea) but I needed a quick sympathy card.  My good friend's brother passed away suddenly and I had to go to the wake/funeral yesterday.  Stencils make for a quick card, so I chose this turnabout stencil and used the two challenge colors.  After stenciling, I cut it on the diagonal, added the die cut sentiment and the black strip and some crystals and was done.  I really like the way the colors worked and how the card came out.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our new guest for April, Joanne James, on the JUGs blog.  Welcome Joanne!  I'm looking forward to seeing your creations this month!
