Everywhere an Oink Oink

Hi everyone!  I made this card to enter into our county fair.  I have to take it there tomorrow (Thursday) and just made it tonight.  The category is paper tole.  I looked it up and the definition is taking parts of the same image and popping it up.  I can do that!  The problem was finding the right stamp (of which I have many!)!  So I chose this Miss Peggy stamp from High Hopes.  I stamped it three times on X-Press It Blending Card and cut out the head from one and the nose and ears from another.   The head is actually on one of those wobble things, so it moves.  The image is colored with copic markers.  I stamped the chicken wire (from a company called Stamp Camp) onto a wood grain paper from Authentique.  The sentiment is also from High Hopes and I stamped it on the backside of the woodgrain paper.  It's cut with a WPlus9 flag die.  I accented the card with a button strung with some floss and some pearls.

Here's a blurry side view.  The only thing I don't like about that wobble thing is that the back side of it has writing on it.  Can you see it?  How dumb!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

This week's challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long is to use your favorite image. This image was given to me by Dawn Burnworth a while ago and I just think it's the cutest image.This is Woodland Santa from High Hopes. The dp is from the Holiday Vintage Prints collection from Papertrey Ink. It's paired with Always Artichoke and Real Red cardstock. The two panels of Always Artichoke was run through a Cuttlebug folder. I colored the image with copics and added some Star Dust Stickles to his hat trim. The sentiment is from Holiday Wishes stamp set, also from Papertrey Ink. Red grosgrain ribbon was added around the center of the panel.

Copic Colour Challenge #10

I can't believe this is the 10th challenge already on the Copic Colour Challenge blog! Time flies when you are having fun! And this week's color choices are very fun! Juliet chose RV34-Dark Pink, B02-Robin Egg Blue, and B39-Prussian Blue.

I chose to use this RAK I received from Dawn (flowergal36 on SCS). This is a stamp from High Hopes called Ronda Stamping Angel. I really love this stamp and I need to order it cause she's just too cute! I colored her with the challenge colors and more for shading and such. I used a white gel pen to make a pattern on her dress because it looked too plain. She's also glittered up with a Spica clear star glitter pen. The dp was a perfect match for the dark pink color. Believe it or not, it's actually from a retired SU holiday pack called Holiday Harmony. I cut the paper so there would be that damask print and soft white flourish in the bottom corner. The strip across is Pacific Point dp. The circular sentiment was also sent to me by Dawn, and I think it may be a retired SU stamp, although I'm not quite sure right now. I popped up the center piece and used a dauber with Pacific Point ink to color the bottom part. I also used Purely Pomegranate paper and stitched ribbon. Ronda was cut and embossed with the a die from Labels Two. The white dots are adhesive ones that I got at the dollar spot at JoAnn's. Oh, I also followed the sketch from Taylored Expressions, but I flipped it to accommodate my image.

Copic Colour Challenge #7

So what do you think of this week's colors for the Copic Colour Challenge? I chose them and I love them! Brown with pink or blue are my all-time favs! When I looked through this new pack of Basic Grey's Marrakech paper I knew exactly what colors I wanted to use this week!

This bunny is Posing Bunny from High Hopes. Isn't she sweet posing with her Easter bonnet and that cute tail? I ended up putting liquid applique on the tail and sprinkled it with glitter before heating it. The brown dots in the corner of the image are self-adhesive candy dots which I picked up at my LSS. The ribbon is SU's retired groovy guava which matches nicely with the cameo coral paper. I used Jen de Muro's sketch for this card.

I Can't Believe I Forgot!

This is going to be a short post because I have to go back to work tomorrow (let's have a pity party for me now!), and it's already after 9:30! I'm sending this to my girlfriend, Eileen, who purchased tickets for myself and my other friend, Maria, for a fundraiser for the zoo called Polar Bites. It was lots of fun, only Eileen couldn't go because she had to work later than expected. Maria and I kept forgetting to pay her for the tickets, so I thought this card would be appropriate. An elephant saying "Aww...nuts! I can't believe I forgot!" Perfect, huh? Don't you just love when you have the perfect stamp for a certain situation? That's what happens when you have every possible stamp imaginable! Anyway, Ellie is stamped on PTI white in Adirondack black and colored with copic markers. The dp is PTI's Polka Dot Parade and it paired nicely with pumpkin pie and mellow moss. I added candy dots (not the real candy ones!) in the corners and pierced the corners of the pumpkin pie paper. Aww...Nuts!

Did you ever forget someone's birthday? I do that all the time! I'm hoping to get more organized so that doesn't happen. I made a birthday box (a la Lauren Meader), which I'll share another time, that will hopefully help with that. But I purchased this stamp set from High Hopes a while ago just in case I did forget someone's birthday. She's Ellie, and isn't she cute? I just love that ribbon tied around her nose! I didn't decorate the inside yet, but there is a sentiment that goes along with it that says "I can't believe I forgot!" Cute!

I started this card with a sketch from High Hopes. I knew I wanted to color him with gray copics, so I looked in my stash for paper with gray in it. This dp is from Basic Grey's Ambrosia line. I love the stripes in this. The orange color paired nicely with SU's pumpkin pie and basic gray. After coloring Ellie, I ran a piece of pumpkin pie through this cuttlebug folder I just purchased. I layered all the pieces and paper pierced a line of holes along the right side of the gray piece. The ribbon is SU's taffeta basic gray, the large flower is a prima, and the small orange felt flower is SU's, as are the orange brads. The sentiment was stamped, cut and embossed with a tag die. I took a stipple brush and stippled pumpkin pie ink over the sentiment while it was still in the die. It looked too white, and this softenend it a bit. The main image and sentiment are on dimensionals. The peanuts at Ellie's feet is actually one stamp that I stamped three times. That's it! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your Sunday!

Color Throwdown Challenge

I finally completed a Color Throwdown Challenge! I think I did one when they first started the challenges, and I tried to do one two weeks ago, but I just couldn't get the colors to work for me. But this one was easier: basic black, brocade blue, and real red.

I also used this sketch by Ana Wohlfahrt for Taylored Expressions. I started with this adorable image from High Hopes. I received it from Dawn (aka flowergal36 on SCS). She sent me a few images a while back and I'm slowly getting around to coloring them. When I saw this image, I thought the jeans could be brocade blue and her shirt red, so I was all set. I used copic markers to color the image and put glitter on the wings. When the card was sitting on my counter, they just sparkled so incredibly I took a close-up picture of it. The picture is a bit blurry, but the sparkle can be seen.

The little hearts on the teapot were created using the tip of my copic marker. I just saw Marianne Walker, the copic guru, do a tutorial on making them on her blog, I Like Markers. I was just there, and the link to the video wasn't working, but that's where I saw it either yesterday or today. The hearts were punched using a Creative Memories punch, and the sentiment on the white heart was created using PTI's Beautiful Blooms and Mixed Messages. The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment and the hearts and sentiment on the inside are from Verve's new sets, Hearts on Fire and Hundred Hearts.

I'm on the mend from being sick with bronchitis. I didn't go to work for two days and still don't have my voice back. I'm going in tomorrow, but don't have to teach because we are correcting the English Language Arts (ELA) tests the kiddos took a couple of weeks ago. My poor students have had their routine interrupted for three days! I'll have to do something nice for them next week because I've heard they've been very good for the substitute! Love is Bliss

I made this card for three reasons today. First of all, it is for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. Jaydekay (Judy) is the FS today and her gallery is full of such inspiration! Second, I chose a layout of Judy's specifically to use with the cute image I received as an RAK from Dawn (flowergal). She was the featured stamper a few months back, and I commented that I loved this image. She sent me a few of them along with some others...so nice! And lastly, I wanted to make my dh a Valentine. If you look closely at what the angel is stamping, it says "I Love You". So I thought this image would be perfect for a Valentine. This card looks a little too feminine, but so what! He thinks I waste too much time and money on this craft anyway! (He's right, but he'll never see this post, so I can say that! LOL!)

I started this card with the paper...Basic Grey's new Bittersweet. I figured stripes for a manly card. Then I took out my copic marker chart and pulled out all the markers that went with this paper. There were a lot! I colored her up (I still need practice with these) and added glitter to her wings, the button on her sleeve, her hair, and the little ruffle on her pocket. The hearts were punched with a Creative Memories punch I forgot I had, and the words are from MFT's Boho Blossoms. I added the twine behind the hearts, like in Judy's card. I added the dew drops because there was this big old white spot glaring at me. They filled the spot nicely and added color to that area. On the inside, I just used some scraps and that new Martha Stewart Flourished Border punch. I didn't put a sentiment on the inside yet because I didn't have anything I liked. I don't have a lot of Valentine stamps, and I just ordered some of Verve Visual's new Valentine sets, so I'll wait until I get them to put the sentiment inside. That's it! Giraffes and More

Well, I'm hoping there'll be more today! I'm making cards today for gifts I'm delinquent on. One of the teachers at work and his wife had a baby a couple of months ago and I never sent a card or a gift, so today's the day for that. Another teacher just built and moved into a new house, and I wanted to give her a gift also. That card is yet to come, so come back and see that one. ETA: It's done...scroll down to see it! I have a cute idea for a "new house" card that I got at my LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff.

I received this image (his name is "Stretch" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps) from Cheryl Rowley in this lovely box a while ago. She gave it to me as a gift the first time we got together. I had mentioned that I really liked this guy, so she stamped quite a few of them and put them in the box. She also sent me a birthday card with him on it, which you can see in this post. That watercoloring is awesome! I used her layout for my card, but used copic markers to color him with. I tried to watercolor him, but it just wasn't working for me. I have to practice more, I guess! This turned out much nicer. After I colored the blue spots, I used a light brown and a beige for the rest of the giraffe. He looked too "blah", so I took an orange/yellow marker and colored over it, then blended it with the colorless blender. It brightened it up and gave me the more apricot color I was looking for. That's what is so great about these markers. You can color over another color, blend it in, shade, etc. They are wonderful! I used the tiny bubbles CB folder for the background and used this cool new rub-on paste I got from Bonnie's Best with a coupon I won at the WNY SCS gathering I went to a few weeks ago. I used a Luster Amber color and it gives a little sheen to the embossed parts. Real cool IRL! I also used this cute dp from Making Memories called Animal Crackers/Ella Giraffes. Crystal Stickles are on the giraffe and the sentiment...I love glitter and shine! There's another card to see....don't leave yet!

Here's the other card I made for a co-worker who just bought a new house. The picture is so dark. I just can't seem to get a good photo. I think I need another light.



I got the idea from a card I saw at my LSS. I kept the layout, but changed the colors and used background dp from Afternoon Tea. The nest and branch are colored with copic markers. The bird should have been facing the other way, or I should have stamped the sentiment more over to the right and put the bird on the left side, but everything was stamped and mounted, and I didn't feel like changing it (lazy!).

The inside of the card reads "You have a new nest". I thought that was cute. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and come back soon!
