A My Time Package for Candy

Happy Saturday, everyone! The My Time challenge that Lauren gave us today is to create a package for candy. I made the package, but I have to confess that I didn't buy the candy for it...I've lost some weight recently and I do not have the will power to NOT eat the candy if it's in my house! I bought some candy as a prop for another project I did a couple of weeks ago and ate the WHOLE BAG!!! So no candy for this project! Please just pretend it's inside! I used Lauren's Tucked Away template for this. Imagine all the pretty candy that would fit inside! The base of the box is so saffron and the dp is SU's Pawsitively Prints (from the Holiday Mini). I just love that soft gingham print. The ribbon is also so saffron grosgrain. Now for the flower on top. I used the daisy die cut from SU and sponged some so saffron ink on the edges of each petal. I curled the ends for more interest. The leaves are also a SU die in certainly celery. The button is PTI. I would just love to receive this full of candy...wouldn't you? These templates are so fun to make and so pretty to give and receive!

Now you must stop by the blogs of the My Time DT to see their candy packages. They never disappoint.

If you decide to play our challenge, please post your direct link to Mr. Linky on Lauren's blog. If you post to SCS please use the keyword MTTC06. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

My Time Template Challenge

I'm not fond of these words...Back to School! I know that moms love these words, but teachers...not so much! It means my free time is over, and I love my free time! Oh well, on to this week's challenge.

Pam suggested using a back to school theme for this week's My Time Template Challenge. I have a five-year-old nephew, Ethan, who will begin Kindergarten this September, and I had made a card for an inspiration challenge a while back that I was saving to give to him for his first day of school (you can see the orginal post here). So I decided to combine that card with this challenge and made this lunchbox for Ethan. I used Lauren Meader's Let's Do Lunch template and coordinated it with the card. The dp is from Graphic 45's Playtimes Past collection.I placed the dp on the sides and top of the lid. Then I added the so saffron grosgrain ribbon to finish it off. I also decorated the black handle with the same ribbon. The latch was punched with the round tab punch in real red and I added a black PTI button on top. The checkerboard dp on the bottom is from the same collection, however it's a punchout. So here's a picture of all the goodies his aunt is loading in there! I tried to purchase healthy snacks, but couldn't pass up the Mini Oreos! We aunts have the right to spoil them, right? Ok, so here's a picture with a real healthy snack. So can you see a little Kindergartener giving this to his teacher on the first day of school? He'd be in like Flynn with me! LOL!!!

Now you should stop by the My Time DT blogs and see what they've created for their back to school projects. I know some of them are jumping for joy that it's this time of the year! LOL!! Here are links to their blogs.

If you decide to play, please link your DIRECT POST to Mr. Linky on Lauren's blog. You have to chance to be highlighted on Lauren's blog next week in her My Time to Shine spotlight. If you upload to SCS, please use the keywords MTTC05.

Thanks for stopping in today and have a great weekend!

My Time Template Challenge

It's Saturday, so it's another My Time to Create Challenge. Today we have template challenge for you. This is the inspiration Lauren gave us for the template challenge. You can use any of the My Timeless Templates for this challenge. Here's a peek at what some of the My Time DT has done. Now here's what I did. I used one of Lauren's newest templates called Milk Made. This template comes in two different sizes, and I used the smaller of the two for this project. So I have to admit, I love the template, but I'm not thrilled with my end result. I'm going to show you another I did a while back with these same colors that I like much better. Here I used SU's basic gray, baja breeze, and Urban Garden retired dp. I added kiwi kiss satin ribbon, some prima flowers, and a button. I didn't do any stamping on this. If it didn't take me so long to figure out what I was going to do, it would only have taken me about 30 minutes to pull this together! I did another one today (that I'll share in tomorrow's post) that I did right before I went to a 40th birthday party. So simple and quick to create! I'm going to a party today at our friends' house, and I think I'll add some Kisses inside this one and give it to them as a hostess gift. I have to say that the petite size of this is so cute!

Now here is one I did in February that I just loved. I followed a video that Lauren did to create it. You can read the original post
here, but I'll show the pictures again here. When Lauren created her project, I just drooled all over it! And when she made the video to show how to do this, I just had to do one too! This one uses All Boxed Up and it was really an easy project.I used kiwi kiss, night of navy, baja breeze and sahara sand for my box colors and the base, and the Urban Garden dp and kiwi kiss satin ribbon. So you can really see how versatile these templates are. Wait until you see the one I'm posting tomorrow...I'm really in love with that one.

Ok, long post, I know, but you have to stop by the blogs of the My Time DT and see what they've created! Always awesome

Do you think you'll play along with our challenge this week? Pam is hosting today, so if you play, please link your project to Mr. Linky on her blog. If you post to SCS/PCP, please use the key word MTTC04 so we can find it! Thanks for stopping in today, and please stop by tomorrow for more! Have a great weekend!

My Time Template Challenge

Welcome to another My Time to Create Challenge! This week, we are using Lauren's templates at Papertrey Ink as part of our challenge, which is to make our own patterned paper to use on a template. I used one of Lauren's newest templates, called Pack a Picnic, which was just released this week. This basket is so large! I was shocked when I put it together! And there is a smaller version of it that comes with the download! Two for the price of one! So cool!

Now for my patterened paper. I had purchased the Guide Lines Grid sheets from PTI when they were released a couple of months ago, but had not used them. I thought this would be a good time to try it. I used one of the square stamps from the first Guide Lines stamp set to make my patterned paper. I also just received my SU order with all the new in-colors and wanted to try them out. I used Melon Mambo for the base and Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry ink for the patterned paper. Here is a close up of the patterend paper so you can see how I placed the images on the guidelines.I finished off the handles with the Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain ribbon. The flower brads are SU as well. I edged the top of the basket with the eyelet border. There is a lid for the basket, but I chose not to use it this time. I wanted my fake fruit to spill out of it! (Actually I was too lazy to make it! LOL!) The image is from Paper Makeup Stamps called Picnic Fairies. It was also just released this month as part of the PMS summer release, and I used it in this card when we were previewing the sneak peeks. I colored the image with copic markers and added Star Dust Stickles for sparkle. I couldn't find a sentiment I liked for this image in rubber, so I just computer-generated my own!

I hope you decide to try this challenge. You can go to the PTI site here for the templates. They are so easy to download, print and put together, and they are very affordable (only $5). The instructions are so easy to follow. You can print the template right on your cardstock or on regular computer paper and use that as your guide to cut it out. This is what I do because cardstock always gets stuck in my printer! Time for a new one, I know! If you decide to play, go to Lauren's blog and leave a direct link to your project on Mr. Linky. If you post to SCS/PCP, use the code MTTC03. We can't wait to see what you come up with! Stop by the DT blogs to see what they've done, too! Thanks for stopping by!

My Time Template Challenge

This is the first My Time Template Challenge in Lauren's new lineup of challenges. She challenged us to use one of her templates, make it a birthday gift, and include the color purple and a butterfly. Well, I think I managed to get all of these requirements into my project today! Here's what I came up with using the My Time Purse-onality Clutch template.

I know I've said this before, but when Papertrey Ink and Lauren first launched these templates, I thought I'd never find a use for them! Well, I'm eating my words, because these are so FUN to make! I'm enjoying one better than the other each time I use them! Here's another look at it.
I think what I like about them is how cute and compact they are! I started by finding this dp in my stash. I found it in a stack pack of papers from Scrapbook Wizard. I must have picked it up on sale at AC Moore a while ago, because I don't even remember this stack! It matched beautifully with SU's Lavender Lace. I decided to stamp this little butterfly (from Verve Visual called Petals and Stems) repeatedly around the base of the purse in Versamark, then embossed it with clear ep. I then used a larger version of the same stamp (also by Verve Visual called Fluttering By) for the closure. I stamped it in Lavender Lace, carefully cut it out, and added purple rhinestones to the body and smaller ones to the antennae. I then attached a Basic Grey magnet (boy those things sure are strong and stick to EVERYTHING!) behind the butterfly and one on the purse so it would stay closed. For the handle, I used another piece of Lavender Lace and I added a piece of PTI's Plum Pudding stitched ribbon. I attached the handle to the top of the purse with silver brads. So simple, but so cute!

Now for the birthday part of the challenge. I was shopping at Coldwater Creek the other day, and saw these key chains in all different shapes...sunglasses, a drink glass, a shoe. I kept digging because I thought there had to be a butterfly in there, and there was! Perfect gift for my niece. This butterfly can also hang from a backpack, which the kids all love! So here's the full gift.I just added some purple shredded filler to the inside and I was done! What a cute way to present a gift! If you feel like trying one of these out, why don't you join our challenge? Just link your project to Mr. Linky on Lauren's blog and use the code MTTC02 if you post to SCS or another forum. We'd love to see what you can do with these templates! You may want to check out what the other girls on the My Time Design Team have done for some inspiration, too! Here is a collage peek of what they've done! Thanks for stopping by!
