Things We Love...Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to the Things We Love Paper Makeup Stamps VIP Blog Hop! Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating it's 2nd birthday and to celebrate the occasion, we are having a super fun VIP blog hop with the theme "the things we love". The entire design team has invited special crafters to play along in this hop. You can see the list of everyone participating in this hop in the linky tool below. But you will want to stop by the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to enter yourself to win a super fabulous prize!

I was trying to decide what PMS image to use on my card today. I LOVE the Beautiful Day Fairies...they are what attracted me to this company, but I decided on a Moody Girl. I'll never forget when Katie revealed these girls to the design team with a warning "not to be afraid of them"! I was so intimidated to color one, but once I did I realized they are so fun to color and offer many options of color. So I chose Moody for Love. I thought she would be perfect for this love-themed hop.

There are a couple of other things in here that I love. First of all the colors. I love any colors that go with brown. This pink/red/brown/vanilla combo just makes me drool! The paper is from the Crazy Love pack by Bo Bunny. I just picked this up at my LSS last week...just yummy! I stamped the Moody Girl on white PTI paper, colored it, and cut/embossed it with a scallop circle nestie, then realized the white was too white for this paper. So I swirled some Pink Pirouette ink around it while still in the die. Then on the edges where you could still see white, I inked it up with tea dye distress ink...it made it look like vanilla cardstock! The XOXO sentiment is from the Hugs and Kisses stamp set. Another thing I love are my star dust stickles, which I used on some of the hearts. (Some of the hearts were stamped a second time and popped up for more dimension.) And the last thing in the picture I love is the chocolate covered cherry candy...LOVE them!

The sketch is the new one for February from Sketch for You To Try. The colors qualify for the CR84FN color challenge of light pink, bright pink, and brown.

And now I'm going to send you off to my good friend and very talented guest for today's VIP hop, Cheryl Rowley! She chose Bronto the dinosaur for her card because she loves the Dustin Dinos in the PMS store. Please show her some love...you will love her style for sure! Thanks for participating in our hop, Cheryl! :-)

Thanks for hopping with us today. If you just happened to stop in, please go to the PMS blog and start hopping along with us! Have a great week!

Doggone Cute! - CR84FN13 and Sweet Stop Sketch

Happy Monday everyone! I had a nice weekend, how about you? On Saturday, I went stamp shopping with my friend, Cheryl Rowley, and boy is she a bad influence! LOL!! (Only kidding, Cheryl!) Guess what I bought? A Grand Calibur! Cheryl told me she bought one and I had been debating whether I had to have one or not. Then guess what I saw at my feet on the floor of the stamp store? It was fate! So now I own one, but I have to find a permanent place for it. I see reorganization in my life soon! LOL!! I had a great morning/afternoon with Cheryl talking about teaching and stamping! We never have trouble finding something to talk about!

While we were at our LSS, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff, our very talented friend Debbie was teaching a class. She does the most amazing 3-D creations with all sorts of images. She showed us one she did with a Whipper Snapper dog image called Relax to the Max (thanks to Anna Wight for the link because I couldn't find it!). Well, I had to buy the stamp and try it out. Here's what I did.

I started with the CR84FN colors of red, turquoise, and brown. Such yummy colors and right up my alley! I found those colors in Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers paper pad. Perfect for my dog image! I stamped the image three times. I cut one of them out with the nestie, one of the dog and bottom part of the chair, and then just the dog. Each one was colored and two were popped up using a dimensional silicone gel. Here's a side view so you can see the dimension.

You can see where I cut part of the ear and hind leg for dimension. I hope Debbie sees this (she's not a blogger, but she really needs to so everyone can see her amazing work!).

The flower was made with a die from My Favorite Things and Papertrey Ink's felt. I used the smallest one and it's adorable!

I used the Sweet Stop Sketch from this week. It worked perfectly for my image.

Thanks for stopping in today! Tomorrow is release day for My Time Made Easy and the MTME team will all be posting projects. I have a fantastic project to share with you, so please stop back! See you then!

Mojo Valentine and CR84FN

I'm loving participating in challenges this month! Today I'm playing in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the CR84FN color challenge.
I decided to make another Valentine card using new products from Paper Makeup Stamps.

The pretty pink dp and the pin with the pearls are from the new kit called Mon Cheri. The image is from the set Sending You Love. The kraft piece was run through the heart Cuttlebug folder. The plum pudding ribbon and cardstock and lavender moon cardstock are from Papertrey Ink. I popped up the heart on the envelope and added star dust stickles to all the hearts. the bow is tied together with the pink corduroy heart from SU.

Thanks so much for stopping in to my blog today! Happy Wednesday!

Valentine Greetings

Hi everyone! I was so excited to have this three-day weekend arrive and guess what? I came down with some sort of bug! I wasn't feeling that great all week, and then yesterday it hit HARD! I was on the couch all day! And today is better but not much! However, I did get down to my craft room to stamp later in the day.

Yesterday, while I was on the couch, I did get some productive commenting in and looked at some interesting challenges. I loved Mona's CR84FN color challenge of red, kraft, and brown...my type of yummy colors!I love sketches and the Card Patterns sketch this week caught my attention. So I combined the two and came up with this pretty Valentine's card. I started with this paper from My Mind's Eye called Lush. I remember seeing my fellow PMS member, Tina Hale, use it and had to order it. That was about 6 months ago! I was waiting for the perfect card to use it on! Now I changed the sketch a little (sorry Card Pattern team), but I wanted a heart on it for a Valentine card. The kraft on this card is from a Starbucks sleeve. I love my Chai tea and went out for a bit today to get some fresh air and my tea, so I decided to incorporate it into this card. The velvet button is threaded with some brown and white baker's twine. The sentiment is from an SU set called Grateful Greetings stamped in real red. I added the red glitter dots on the opposite side from the sketch because it suited my card better. I left the brown grosgrain ribbon hanging off the edge a bit...I just like that look!

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Paper Makeup Stamps - Fairy Sneak Peeks

Happy Tuesday! I've got another sneak peek for you from Paper Makeup Stamps. Today we are sneaking the new Beautiful Day Fairies. There are two new ones plus another in the new January kit (which you'll see on Thursday) that you will fall in love with. I have Sasha the Skating Fairy to show you today. I don't say this too often, but I really love this card! I wasn't sure of its outcome while I was working on it, but once I added that velvet ric rac ribbon and flower, I just went "ahhhh!" Did that ever happen to you? I'm sure it did!

I took the colors of light pink, yellow, and peach from Mona's CR84FN color challenge. The colors just grabbed me...I've always loved peach. My bridesmaids wore peach in my wedding (it was the '90s!) and I just love that soft color. So I used blush blossom cardstock and ran it through the swirls folder and paired it with paper from Basic Grey's Porcelain paper pad. I colored Sasha accordingly.

The layout is from Jen del Muro's Sketch for You to Try. She's going to monthly sketches (which makes me sad, but I know it's difficult to keep up with weekly demands) and just LOVE her sketches. I used a new tool on this card that I've had but have not used. It's My Favorite Thing's Die-namics rolled flower die (they must be out of stock because I couldn't find it in their store). It took me a while to figure out how to use it, but I managed to get it right. I cut it out of the blush blossom cardstock and added a pearl in the middle. I also addes star dust stickles around it...so pretty! The ribbon was gifted to me by Bonnie Sharp and it's from Sharon Johnson's store.

I'm also entering this in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #15 to use something new and ribbon. Well, the die, the ribbon, and the Sasha fairy are all new!

You can see more sneak peeks on the PMS blog. Randee, Jami (our newest PMS DT member!), Lisa M, Maria, and Simonne are all posting today, so stop over to their blogs as well. Don't forget the new release will be available on Friday, January 7th. We're having our blog hop that day as well as our Release Party starting at 9:00 pm EST. We'd love for you to join us in the PMS forum for some fun!

Thanks for stopping in today!
