Just Us Girls #533 - Photo Week

Hi friends!  Maria chose this cheerful photo of sunshine and flowers for the Just Us Girls Photo Week challenge.

I have three cards to share.  I chose three coordinating pattern papers and layered them together on top of a template.  Then I used a ruler and craft knife to cut out the pieces.  This gave me nine pieces, enough to make three cards.  This is the first and is a little different from the other two.  I put three of the patterns together onto a piece of cardstock and then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  The flowers and leaves were die cut and layered in the bottom left corner.  The hello words were die cut and layered together.  I added shimmer and crystals for sparkle.

The next two are the same aside from the color of the flowers and the placement of the pattern papers.  The happy word was die cut from black card stock and craft foam for dimension.

Time Out #160 - Home Sweet Home Photo Inspiration

Hello!  There's a new Time Out challenge and this month is our Home Sweet Home photo inspiration challenge.  This photo is so cool, and there is so much inspiration to get from it.

My eyes went to the wreath on the window.  If you look closely, you will see there are bees on the wreath.  So that's what I went with.  I pulled out an old My Time Made Easy set (now defunct) that had bees in it and chose this one.  I used the wreath builder set to create the wreath and started with the bee.  I stamped it four times then filled it in with leaves, branches, flowers, and berries.  I colored in the bees with copic markers and added shimmer to the wings.  That panel was added to a black mat.  I don't like plain white card bases, so I ran it through an impression plate in a canvas pattern.  To finish off the card, I added a twine bow and crystals.

The sponsor for this challenge is Uniko.

Just Us Girls #532 - Color Week

Hi everyone!  It's Color Week over at Just Us Girls and Bobby chose rust, navy and brown.  Cool color combination.

I started by making a wreath with the wreath builder stencil using the three colors.  Then I cut it in half to make it work with an A2 size card.  I added a white piece mounted on a rust piece to cover up the space between the wreath pieces. The anchor and sentiment were die cut and adhered to the card.  I added bronze sequins.  There is too much shimmer on the sentiment die cut.  I squeezed the brush to get more out and too much came out.  Ugh!

Spring Card Camp - Day 4

Hello!  I made these cards with guidance from the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp.  Julie Ebersole was the guest artist, and I created these based on her class.  I made some changes and don't want to give away the details from the class because it is a paid class.

Hope you enjoy!

This was colored with copic markers and I added shimmer to the die cut.

Here's another set of cards I made.

I used glossy accents on the donut and some spun sugar ink on the background.  I don't know if you can see the embossed lines on the right bottom corner. I used a score board to get them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Card Camp - Day 3

Hi friends!  I'm taking the Spring Card Camp class from Online Card Classes.  Yana Smakula showed us a cool technique today.  I don't want to get into specifics about how I did this because it is a paid class.  However I did use several colors of cardstock and a sentiment strip from SSS for this card.  There are clear crystals on the card.  They look white because I took the picture right after I added them to the card and the glue was still wet!  I added shimmer to parts of the cards as well.  You could do more than one card like this with leftover pieces, however I only made one today.  I'll use the scraps to make more for sure!  (It's a little time consuming and I ran out of time!)

Here's a link to Online Card Classes in case you are interested.  I think I paid $25 (maybe less!), and classes started last Saturday and run every day throughout the month of April.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #531 - Trend Week

Hi friends!  I hope everyone is safe and sane today!  It's a very unsettling time, but we have to do what we have to do!

This week at Just Us Girls is our Trend Week.  Cecile has chosen for us to make a square card.

Since tomorrow is Easter, I chose to make one last Easter card using the reveal wheel square dies and sentiments.  I also found this older Carton Cuties set and thought it would be so cute on this card.  I die cut the carton, chicks, and eggs halves and colored them.  Then I adhered the chicks to the eggs then to the carton.  The reveal wheel pieces were die cut and assembled.  I used the reveal wheel template for placement of the sentiments on the wheel.  I added the arrow, turn sentiment, crystals, and shimmer to finish off the card.

The following pictures show the different sentiments I chose for the wheel.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our April guest on the JUGs blog.

I hope you have an enjoyable Easter tomorrow if you celebrate.

And today marks 28 years that I've been married to this guy!

More Easter Cards

Here are a few more Easter cards I made for family and friends.

This one was for my mother and mother-in-law.  The background is a stamp and stencil set from The Greetery.  The cross is from Simon Says Stamp.

This filigree bunny is from Simon Says Stamp as well.  I blended pink, yellow and blue inks on a panel that I adhered behind the die cut.  The background is a gingham background stamp.

This is the same cross die and gingham background stamp.

Time Out #159 - Inspired by Words

Hi friends!  Hoping today finds you happy and well. This week's Time Out challenge is Inspired by Words.  You can read the quote below.

We are sponsored by Newton's Nook this week.  So I used this pretty stamp called Floral Fringe as my "garden" inspiration from the quote.  I stamped it and colored it with copic markers.  I cut it in half and mounted it on a yellow base die cut with a stitched rectangle.  I die cut pieces of white and light purple cardstock with the stitched rectangle and adhered it to the center.  The sentiment was die cut three times with the same light purple cardstock and adhered it to the center.  I finished it with crystals and shimmer on the sentiment and flower centers for some more sparkle.

Just Us Girls #530 - Word Week

Hi everyone!  The challenge this week at Just Us Girls is Word Week challenge.  Ina chose the word
FEATHERS.

I started this card by blending yellow, blue, and violet inks on the background panel.  Then I inked it with a word type background stamp in a light gray.  I let it dry for a bit before stamping the feathers with Versafine onxy black ink and embossing it with clear embossing powder.  For the hello sentiment, I blended the same three inks on a scrap piece of paper and die cut the word from that and the shadow piece from black cardstock (3 times to stack it for dimension).  I added shimmer to the word die, sequins, and the secondary sentiment.

Happy Easter

Hello again!  I have another Easter card to post today.  I actually made two of these.  I started by stamping and coloring this Whipper Snapper image.  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle and set it aside.  Then I stamped this gingham background image onto a panel in pink ink and die cut it with another stitched rectangle.  I die cut a banner and stamped the sentiment on it.  The image panel was popped up with craft foam, and I added sequins to it and shimmer on the image.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Double D Challenge - There's is a banner challenge.  My sentiment is stamped on a banner.

Inspire.Create - This challenge has an Easter theme.
Image may contain: possible text that says 'Inspire. .Create Stamping Challenges Theme: Easter Challenge #066'
