Just Us Girls #638 - Photo Week

Hello everyone!  This week Vicki is our hostess at Just Us Girls, and she chose this cute summery photo.  It sure made me smile!

I went literal with this photo when creating my card, as you can see!  I was in search of pineapples in my stash of stamps and came upon this older set from Rina K.  It's a stamp/stencil/die set.  I first die cut the pineapple from white card stock and placed the die cut back into the negative space on my MISTI.  Then I stamped the yellow body of the pineapple and the green fronds.  Then I stenciled the green spots on it with the coordinating stencil.  I did this two more times.  Then I went in search of a set that had sunglasses and found one!  I had a die for them, so I die cut them six times and stacked them in twos for dimension.  The flower is from another stamp set.  I stamped it, colored it with copic markers, then die cut it and attached it to pineapple.  For the background, I first used a tan ink for the sand, and aqua for the water.  I did put a piece of post-it tape down before inking to create the horizon.  Then I used a cloud stencil for the sky.  The sentiment made me laugh, so I had to use it.  I drew in the birds and added crystals to finish it off.

Just Us Girls #637 - Color Week

Hello!  It's Color Week at Just Us Girls, and Elizabeth has chosen this primary color combo with an additional color of you choice.  This should be fun!

These new products were sitting on my desk, so I put them to work!  I started by using the four layering stencils to create the garden gloves in the three colors and added the green.  Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I sponged the same blue and red inks onto a scrap piece of white card stock so I could die cut the accent pieces on the gloves and have it match.  The fog mat piece was created using a leaves piercing cover plate.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink and die cut with a coordinating die.  I added red pearls to finish it off.

Just Us Girls #635 - Word Week

Hi friends!  Lisa E. is the hostess at Just Us Girls for our Word Week.  She chose a cool word:  PAINTBRUSH.

I love how colorful this card is!  I die cut the handles and tips of the brushes from a rainbow of card stock colors and the brushes from black card stock.  I used silver card stock for the metal piece.  The sentiment was stamped in black and the word "color" from rainbow ink colors.  I added crystals in rainbow colors and a red heart.  I mounted the white panel onto black and then added that to a rainbow stripe pattern paper.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our new June guest, Lucie, on the JUGs blog.  I'd like to welcome Lucie to JUGs for this month!
