Just Us Girls #186 - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!  This week's Just Us Girls challenge is a photo inspiration challenge brought to us by our newest member Nancy.  She's chosen a couple of great photos for your inspiration.

I love pink and black as well as damask designs, so I brought out my Pretty in Pink ink and Damask Designs stamp set by Papertrey Ink to create my background paper.  I cut a black circle with a die and ran it through an embossing folder.  To make the design stand out more, I rubbed some luster rub on stuff (I don't know what it's called!) onto the it and it gives it a nice shimmer.  The sentiment is from Sending You, also PTI.  The flowers are something new I picked up at my LSS called Twinkle Blooms.

I followed the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge.

Just Us Girls #185 - Color Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!  This week's challenge at Just Us Girls is a color challenge, and Marisa chose these lovely spring colors!

I'm late getting mine done, and I had no idea what I was going to do.  When I went to my craft table, these new stamps from WPlus9 were sitting there so I of course had to use them!  This set is called Paisley Prints and I just love paisley prints!  I made my background with them in the four challenge colors.  Then I added the pink piece on the bottom.  I first stamped it with the sentiment from Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday from Papertrey Ink, then used a SU punch for the decorative edge, and finally ran it through the Swiss Dots folder for some texture.  The flower is made from PTI felt and Beautiful Blooms II dies.  I added a button threaded with some baker's twine.  The flourish is from My Favorite Things and I cut it from certainly celery paper, then added some Star Dust Stickles for some sparkle.  It's so much prettier and colorful in person.  I just couldn't capture it in the picture.  Such a shame!

I used Fusion card challenge's sketch for my card this week.  Love this challenge!

Another CAS(E) this Sketch Card!

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm here to redeem myself from yesterday's mistake!  Yesterday I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and totally flubbed the sketch (well, not totally), so I had to make another. You can see that card here.  I actually made this last night when I should have been doing report cards, but it really bothered me that I messed up.  So I went back down to the craft room and made another.

I actually CASED one of the DT cards made by Kim.  I loved her diagonal floral spray so much that I had to create one too.  I have so many stamps that I purchase because I was inspired by something someone made, and then they just sit.  I'm trying to start using them.  This floral set is Folk Art Floral from WPlus9.  I stamped the flowers and leaves in these SU colors:  apricot appeal, regal rose (saying goodby to this one is very sad...sniff, sniff), tempting turquioise, and wild wasabi.  The butterfly is from Heart-2-Heart #10 and the sentiment from Signature Greetings II, all from Papertrey Ink.  I added Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly and the centers of all the flowers.  It's so sparkly in person!

That's it for me.  I wrote this post on Sunday night, and I had not finished my report cards yet.  Let's hope they are done today by 10:00 am!
Thanks for stopping by!

Are You a Procrastinator?

I am!  I have report cards to complete for tomorrow and I really dread doing them.  So what am I doing today instead?  Cleaning (something I don't particularly like doing either, so you can see how much I really dread doing report cards!) and stamping (something I love to do!).   I was surfing blogs  today on my new app Feedly and saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and just had to play along.

So washi tape is all the rage recently, and I purchased a {few} rolls.  But have I used them?  Of course not!  So when I saw this sketch I thought it would be a great time to pull them out and use them.  I wanted to use this phone image from Papertrey Ink's Heart-2-Heart #4 set, so I thought a black phone would look nice against this bright green polka dotted washi tape (I bought it at my LSS and don't know who makes it).  I started with the black stripe in the middle which is from WPlus9's Country Charm set.  All the black stamping was done with Versafine Black Onyx ink.  Then I added the washi tape on either side of it.  The "hello" is from the Heart-2-Heart set as well and the Happy Birthday is from the Happy Hexagon set from PTI.  (I see I didn't place my sentiment where it is on the sketch and my stripe is not as it is on the sketch....creative license I guess!  UGH!)  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the heart, which was stamped in an old retired color from SU.  This is a 4.25 x 4.25 size card.
The little phone has a chain on it so you can hang it from something.  I have had this forever!  My grandmother used to be a cleaning lady for the telephone company many, many years ago and she had bunches of these to give us.  They would find all kinds of things being thrown out that she would bring home (and no, they weren't stolen!).
Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are procrastinating and enjoying your Sunday!  :-)
Stamps:  Heart-2-Heart #4 and Happy Hexagons (PTI), Country Charm (WPlus9)
Paper:  Neenah white, black
Ink:  Versafine black onyx, green (retired SU)
Accessories:  Star dust stickles, washi tape, dimensionals, Heart-2-Heart #4 die (PTI)

Just Us Girls #184 - Technique Challenge and a Sponsor!

Hi there friends!  We have a new challenge over at Just Us Girls today.  This week is our technique challenge and Vicki has chosen a really cool technique.  It's called the ombre technique.  It's very popular now in clothing, hair color, cakes, and nail colors (like the pictures in our graphic).  It's a very easy look to achieve.

The most difficult thing for me was coming up with ink colors and stamps to use!  Once I settled on those, it was a breeze.  My 21st anniversary was Thursday, so I decided to make an anniversary card for my husband using this technique.  I chose Background Basics:  Spots and Dots with Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, and River Rock inks to create the panel.  I was very happy with the results!  To finish off my card, I used these sentiments from Love and Marriage.  I've always loved this sentiment and my hubby likes John Lennon, so I think he'll get a kick out of this!  I cut out the arrow using the Get to the Point die set.  (I used Papertrey Ink stamps and dies.)  I added a button and some twine.

I used last week's Clean and Simple sketch for my layout.

Stop by these blogs to see what the girls created with the ombre technique.
As a SPECIAL SURPRISE, Cindy from over at Dare 2B Artzy is sponsoring this challenge!
Yep, that's right - the winner of this week's challenge will get to choose the stamp set they want! Thanks so much Cindy -- so generous of you!

Dare 2B Artzy is an unique, inspiring, and contemporary line of clear stamps for the use of card making and scrapbooking. Along with the many stamp designs already created, customizable stamps are also available upon request.

Fusion Card Challenge #1

Hi all!  I had some time this morning to try out a new challenge called the Fusion Card Challenge.  You can use just the sketch or the inspiration picture or both as the basis for your card.  I chose both.

I loved the sketch, so I used Background Basics:  Chevron Stripes for my base in Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango.  I wanted to use the pink colors, but I wasn't happy with it, so I went with the yellow and orange colors in the picture.  Then I used the Rosie Posie sets for the flowers in the same colors.  The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi.  I used the coordinating dies to cut the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from Spring Hills and it's stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I love this ink for sentiments because it gives such a crisp impression.  The little crystals I picked up at AC Moore.  Can't remember what they are called!  My friend Nancy has a birthday this month, so I thought I'd send this to her.

Thanks for stopping by today!  It's back to work for me tomorrow after a week off!  Not looking forward to that!  Enjoy today!

Just Us Girls #183 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  It's the first Saturday of the month which means sketch challenge at Just Us GirlsTangii is our hostess this week, and this is the great sketch she came up with for us.

Here's my attempt at it.  I used a lot of new Papertrey Ink supplies.  The stamp set is Birthday Style.  I started by stamping the confetti on the main panel in Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, and Wild Wasabi inks.  Then using the same inks, I stamped the swags on the smaller panel.  I die cut the balloon and bow and stamped them in the green and pink inks.  I die cut birthday word using the Wonderful Words: Birthday die and pink paper.  The pattern paper is from Delovely by Cosmo Cricket, and was cut using the MFT large scallop die.   I added the ribbon, button, and baker's twine at the top.  I was only able to add two metal dots at the bottom.  I can't decide whether this is too busy or not.  What do you think?

We are so fortunate to have a fabulous new member joining our JUGs design team!  Please welcome her.

My Time Made Easy - April Release Group Post

Hi friends!  Today I get to show my entire shopping ensemble I created with new products from My Time Made Easy!  What a great gift set indeed!

Up first is the Handbag template.  This is just such a roomy template that could hold oodles of things!  I used the same bronze shimmery paper I've used with my previous templates here and here as well as the same Diamonds and Pearls digital paper.  I left off some design elements that come with the template, but you could add them in coordinating patterns and get an entirely different look!  The buckle was created from the same bronze paper.  I just ran it through my Xyron machine and added some bronze glitter from Glitter Ritz.  So shiny and pretty!   The butterfly was covered in Star Dust Stickles and hung from the handle with some pink baker's twine.

Next is a new cut file called Bill Fold.  I added the same flowers used on the Shoe Box and Sexy Soles I created the other day.

Perfect for that monetary gift that is always welcome!

I then created this card using the same elements and a new digi set called Shop Til You Drop.  The flowers are from the On Display 1 set.  Simple card, but all the elements tie together to get a nice gift emsemble!

Here's the Handbag and Sexy Sole templates and the Bill Fold cut file.  The Shoe Box was too big to get into my light box and photograph!

That's it for me, but the entire team is posting today so make sure you stop by these blogs!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Time Made Easy - Sexy Soles

Have you seen the new products from My Time Made Easy released this month?  Fabulous stuff and the design team has created some amazing things with them!  Today, I'm using the new Sexy Soles template.  So amazing!  I used some bronze shimmery paper and the Diamonds and Pearls paper for my shoes.  These shoes look like brown satin!

On Monday, I posted this box using the Shoe Box template, and created the shoes using the same paper and flowers.  You can add some treats in the toe part of the shoe if you are giving this as a gift.  I'm giving this to my friend's daughter who loves to get these projects.

The shoes actually fit perfectly inside the box!

You can see more creations from some of the design team at these blogs.

Thanks for stopping by!  Tomorrow I'll show more of my ensemble gift set!

My Time Made Easy - Release Day

Hi everyone!  Today is release day at My Time Made Easy, and we have some girlie products this month!  I am in love with all of them!  I made an ensemble of items, but today I'm just showing one of them.
This is the Shoe Box template.  Super roomy!  As I'm looking at my photo, I realized I didn't add the accents that go on the corners of the box!  Ugh!  You can see it on the sample in the store if you are interested.  I wanted an elegant looking box and items to go with it (you'll see some tomorrow), so I used this bronze shimmery paper I had on hand for the bottom of the box.  I used this paper for wedding invitations a couple of years ago.  It's super pretty!

For the top, I used the Diamonds and Pearls digital paper pack.  It looks really pretty with the bronze paper!  I love pink with brown, so I added this huge pink and brown polka dot flower and layered it with another brown flower and wood butterfly from Prima.  I added Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly.  Then I had this had pin with pearls on it that I stuck in there.

Come back tomorrow to see what I have inside the box!  So cool!
We have three new designers on our team.  You can see them here.
You can also check out the rest of our team's creations here.
Thanks for stopping by!  Come back tomorrow for more!
