New Stuff at PMS!

Hi everyone! I don't have a card to share today...I was busy Easter shopping and running errands all day and then went to dinner with my MIL and hubby. I had some delicious broiled scallops at our friend's little restaurant! But I wanted to let everyone know that Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS) now carries copic sketch markers and has more colors to add to the store tomorrow along with Kaiser pearls and bling! There are some fantastic colors of the Kaiser pearls being added...like chocolate! I'm getting those, that's for sure! Copic Colour Challenge #8

This week, the Copic Colour Challenge #8 is being sponsored by Toodles and Binks. Each DT member was graciously given a stamp from Toodles and Binks to showcase this week! Thanks, Toodles and Binks! I was given this cute fairy called Celeste. I just love how regal she looks!

This week's colors were perfect for her. Although I have to say that I made a mistake with the green...I thought it was YG97, which I didn't have, so I used YG95! Totally blanked on that one, but I only used the green on her little shoes!

I used the Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge Sketch for this card. It's a larger card that measures 5.25" square. The base is SU's textured Wild Wasabi and the dp is their Raspberry Tart. I accented it with their retired Purely Pomegranate. The pearls are Hero Arts and I colored them with the RV29 copic marker to match. I love this copic marker technique. You can perfectly match any of your embellishments to your card. Lauren Meader just posted a video clip about this technique here that you might enjoy watching if this technique is new to you. The corner pieces were done with a Cuttlebug die that I always forget I have. I thought this image was deserving of a fancy flourish such as this! Celeste is glittered up with diamond stickles and the star on her wand was glittered with yellow stickles. I like the sentiment from PTI's Mixed Messages set. It sort of looks like Celeste is about to grant a wish to someone! Oh, I hope it is me...I could use more stamps, Celeste! LOL!

Double Super Tuesday at PMS!

It's a Double Super Tuesday at Paper Makeup Stamps because first of all, today is the release of their April stamps! There are new fairies, animals, and sentiments. The DT team has been doing sneak peeks for the past week, so if you haven't seen them, visit their blogs posted on my sidebar to see all the great new stamps! You can also visit the PMS blog for some sneaks as well.

The second reason why this is a Super Tuesday is because it's the first Tuesday of the month, which means that today there is a one-day only sale at PMS. All Monsters and Aliens are 50% off! Yes, that's right...50% off! But it's only for today, so hurry on over there! To celebrate this sale, I've made a card featuring Spike the monster. It looks like he's rushing over to PMS for the sale too! The sentiment is also from PMS called Paradise. This sentiment, and several of the PMS sentiments, come in a small and large size. I like that idea because your sentiment could compliment a larger image, such as in this card, or with the larger version it could be the focal point on your card. Very versatile!

This card started out following today's Mojo Monday sketch, but I couldn't make it work, so I left off one layer and made it work for me. I won't post it as a Mojo sketch, it will just be a "Lisa" sketch! LOL! The dp is Cosmo Cricket's Broadwith and Links. I took my colors for Spike from the paper (which is something I do often...choose my dp and color my image accordingly). I mounted Spike on Pumpkin Pie and the sentiment on Real Red. The dp is mounted on Not Quite Navy and the base is Whisper White. The ribbon is also SU...from their Sale-a-bration promo. It's a very nice twill in Certainly Celery. The star brads are something I picked up a while ago from the Target $1 spot. I added some crystal effects to his eyes and a little bit of clear star gelly roll pen on Spike for some **SPARKLE**.

PMS Monday Challenge and a Sneak Peek

Paper Makeup Stamps Monday Challenge this week is an inspiration challenge hosted by Christi. Since Easter is on it's way and coloring eggs is part of that tradition, this is the picture she chose for our inspiration. Love the fabulous springy Easter colors in this picture.

I picked up on the pink and green colors and Easter theme from this, and pulled out this lovely Tea Party dp from SU and soon-to-be-released PMS Cross. This Cross image is so pretty and I think I went a little whimsical this time more than the last time I used this image here. It's a very versatile image because of the different ways it can be used. This time I didn't cut it out, but rather used the Coluzzle system for the image and the mat. The image was once again colored with copic markers and I used Platinum stickles for my SPARKLE. I tried a new technique I learned at my copic certification class, but I think I need more practice at it! I tried to highlight around the image with a marker and colorless blender. It looks much softer and not so blotchy in real life. The camera really did a poor job of photographing it! Really!! I placed three different sized green crystals around the perimeter of the oval. I do like that look! I used a MS punch around the perimeter of the dp...it sort of looks like a doily to me. The sentiment is also from a new set being released Tuesday (tomorrow) called Believe Scripture set. There are about six sentiments in that set. The Cross image will be released tomorrow as well along with some more fairies, animals, and sentiments. Please make sure to stop by the PMS store tomorrow to check all of them out.

Another PMS Peek!

I just had to do another card with this Dawdling Turtle that Paper Makeup Stamps had on their April preorder. It will be available in rubber at the store soon along with all the other new, fabulous images! If you take a look at the other card I did with him here, you'll notice that he looks a little different. That's because I added some details to his shell and underbelly. I used a copic multiliner pen to draw in some details, then colored them in with various copic markers. I also added some spots to his legs, tail and head. If you click on the picture, you'll see more of the details.

I used the Taylored Expressions sketch from a couple of weeks ago for this card. I just flipped it on its side. The dp is from a SU hostess pack in more mustard. I also used a piece of more mustard cardstock and ran it through the tiny mosaic texture cuttlebug folder that looked like it might be the skin of a turtle. I scalloped the edge of the dp with a MS punch (love those!). The ribbon is a more mustard grosgrain. The sentiment was cut and embossed with a Spellbinder's die and the photo corner was punched with an SU punch. I placed some dew drops on top with glue dots.

Argus is Foiled Again!

Meet Argus and his friend Teddy. Aren't they sweet? This is another stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps. Katie has a cute line of monsters and aliens along with her Beautiful Day Fairies. This is the first time I'm using one of the monsters, and I just love this guy! He's "foiled again" because I played in the Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS today, which was to use foil on your card. Well, I made my brads from small pieces of foil! Pretty cool idea, using foil! I also used yesterday's Sketch Challenge for this card. I just turned the sketch to accommodate Argus.

For some reason, I thought Argus should be green and orange. I looked through my stash for paper to match and I still had some of this retired SU Jersey Shore (love that paper) and matted it with Wild Wasabi and Brilliant Blue! The sentiment is also PMS called Heart Happy and fit it the large tag die perfectly. I tied some orange gingham ribbon through the holes. The main panel and sentiment are up on dimensionals. After I took the picture and was downloading it, I realized I didn't add any SPARKLE to my card! What was I thinking? I think it's because I'm sick and just wanted to finish this and get to bed early! I guess I can add it later! Thanks for stopping by today! Love all you comments...they are appreciated!

Copic Colour Challenge #7

So what do you think of this week's colors for the Copic Colour Challenge? I chose them and I love them! Brown with pink or blue are my all-time favs! When I looked through this new pack of Basic Grey's Marrakech paper I knew exactly what colors I wanted to use this week!

This bunny is Posing Bunny from High Hopes. Isn't she sweet posing with her Easter bonnet and that cute tail? I ended up putting liquid applique on the tail and sprinkled it with glitter before heating it. The brown dots in the corner of the image are self-adhesive candy dots which I picked up at my LSS. The ribbon is SU's retired groovy guava which matches nicely with the cameo coral paper. I used Jen de Muro's sketch for this card.
