Think INK Tuesday Challenge

Happy Monday everyone! My LEAST favorite day of the week., but I guess it's needed to get to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday right? :-)
I have my next to last post as an INK girl for you today. The Artful INKables Think INK Tuesday challenge this week is a sketch that Holly McMillen created. LOVE sketches and this is a great one!This image and sentiment are from the new set called Sexy and Sweet. I used two of my favorite spring colors to work with this image...green and purple. I picked up this Doodlebug Designs dp called Plum Blossoms from my LSS a couple of weeks ago, and it was just sitting on my table waiting to be used. I used certainly celery and lavendar lace card stock which matched up with it perfectly. The ribbon is also certainly celery.

I think the sentiment is a hoot! And it's so true! Have you been to the lingerie department lately? Just Because

I only have a few more posts to share with you before my DT spot on Artful INKables expires. I had an idea to make a cute little candy/mint box that you could give to someone "Just Because". Here's what I came up with using the new set Any Birdy Home?

In this set there are two flowers and one leaf to compliment the three beautiful birdhouses (see my posts using two of them here and here). Here is a way to use them individually. I just stamped three flowers and seven leaves, colored them, cut them out, and created this sort of swag on the top of the round tin container. I covered the clear lid with this dp from SU called Sweet Always. Since the lid is clear and I wanted the same dp to show on the inside (and not the other side of this piece), I put another piece on the inside of the lid as well. I took my colors from the dp to color the flowers. I like this combo! You can really see the star dust stickles on the flowers and leaves. The "Just Because" sentiment is from another new mini set called Fanciful Flowers.The sides of the tin were covered with SU ribbon in Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink grosgrain. I put some Cadbury Mini Eggs inside the tin. You could also put some mints in there. I'll be back maybe tomorrow or Tuesday with a Think INK Tuesday challenge. Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop and Release Day!

The cute little monster I have to share with you today is Buzz.
This image just makes me smile! Buzz comes as one stamp with one bee and a trail. I cut the bee and trail off to be a separate stamp. Then I inked up the bee several times and then pierced the trails behind them. I chose this Basic Grey Lemonade dp because it sort of looked like a honeycomb pattern. I paired it with SU's Bermuda Bay cardstock and ribbon. The sentiment is actually positioned horizontally, but it didn't fit that way on my card, so I got out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and inked one word at a time to stack the words. It worked better for me. I guess I could have just cut it in half instead of going through all that! Oh well! I swirled some Bermuda Bay ink around both circles, and then added the silver pearls. Paper Makeup Sneak Peek Day 4 - Moody Girls

Paper Makeup Stamps is previewing their Moody Girls today, and there are two new ones! I have Moody for Flowers to show you today. I LOVE this Moody Girl! I have to admit I love them all! I started with the dp (I bought it at my LSS, but I do not know who makes it!). Makes me think of Spring! I was going to add another piece of coodinating dp that had green in it (but it never made it on the card), hence the green on the Moody Girl's top! The cardstock base and the ribbon are SU's Melon Mambo. I swirled some Pretty in Pink ink around the Moody Girl and the sentiment (another new one this month).

Just Us Girls - Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone...my favorite day of the week because it's the beginning of the weekend and a Just Us Girls challenge day! I LOVE my JUGs challenges...don't you? It's the first Saturday of March (already?) and a new month of challenges and a new guest designer.

The first Saturday is always a sketch challenge, and the divine Dana Gustafson has a great one for us today!

It's also a special week because we have a new sponsor. A brand new company called WPlus9 Design Studio. The JUGS girls are featuring their first 4 new stamp sets. I was given a set called Love Birds to work with and it was so fun to use! These are very good quality acrylic stamps.

I wanted to use this Basic Grey dp called Origins that my good stamping friend, Cheryl Rowley, gifted to me along with some great images to color and use! Such a sweet gift! I liked this paper because it had the colors I wanted to use in it: yellow for the birds, brown for the tree limb, and green for the leaves. The birds were colored with a Summer Sun marker, stamped and cut out. I then sponged Close to Cocoa around the edge to tone it down a bit and give it some definition. They are popped up on the limb. The leaves are a cluster of hearts that comes with the set. (This set can definitely be used for Valentine's Day!) I added star dust stickles to the leaves for the sparkle I love so much! The sentiment was stamped in the same Certainly Celery as the leaves, and I added some Kaiser pearls underneath it. The strip of flowers was created using an EK Success punch (love that one!) in Summer Sun. The ribbon is a strip of Certainly Celery twill from SU's Sale-a-bration last year. I used a decorative edge punch for the corners. That's it!

Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek Day 3 - Fairies

It's finally Friday and we are already at day 3 of the sneak peeks for Paper Makeup Stamps March release! You can see all three sneak peek days on the PMS blog. We've had a Word Art sneak day and a Lucky You sentiment set sneak day. Today we are sneaking the Beautiful Day Fairies illustrated by Diem Pascarella. I LOVE the fairies! Here's a new one called Carma Fairy.I love this fairy with the little chicks. So fresh and fun! Just in time for Spring! I think everyone on the east coast is ready for Spring!

I wanted my colors to play off the chicks, so I chose the yellow, brown and white in this SU dp called Good Morning Sunshine. I colored Carma (named after Katie's mom!) accordingly and added some flock to the chicks. I think you can see the flock in this closeup picture. It was so easy to apply. I just used applied some glue using a Quickie Glue pen, then sprinkled on the flock and removed the excess. I like how it was sort of translucent so you can still see the detail on the chicks. Oh, and the sentiment is a new one being released this month as well!

Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek Day 1 - Word Art

I cannot believe that it's already March and we are upon another release from Paper Makeup Stamps! Spring here we come! We have another fabulous release once again from PMS, and today we are showing peeks of the new Word Art collection. Here we go!We have four new Word Art sentiments and a bunch of single sentiments to show you today. Now I must tell you that this fairy is a previously released one. She is Rachel Fairy and I thought she was perfect for this new Word Art. Isn't this sentiment so true for all you gardeners out there? This sentiment is a nice size to use on its own or paired with another image, as I have done here.
