Two Challenges, One Card!
Did you see the great sketch over on SCS today? I love sketches, and this one is particularly nice because it's a simple one that you can really dress up. I also looked at today's Color Throwdown Challenge and really liked the colors they chose (lavender lace, so saffron, and garden green), so I decided to incorporate both challenges into one card. This is what I came up with.
This is a Rachelle Anne Miller stamp from Stampavie called Peek-a-Boo. I purchased this a while back and never inked it up! It was just sitting there waiting for today. When I saw the CTD colors, I knew I had a SU dp that would work with these colors. I found a retired one, Uptown, and also a current one, Tea Party, that both fit the bill. Uptown, however, had this great garden green piece that I fell in love with, so I chose to use it. I kept mostly to the saffron and green because my image had so much purple in it. (I'm not a real big fan of purple, but I can tolerate it in small doses!) I colored the little guy with copics that I matched up pretty closely, and only used those three colors. I didn't want to introduce any other colors because it is a color challenge! I'm not real crazy about my coloring on this...the dark colors are difficult for me to shade! I gave it a little bit of dimension by putting the butterfly up on dimensionals, and I added star dust stickles for that special sparkle I love!

PMS Monday Challenge - Button Up!
The Paper Makeup Stamps DT have another Monday challenge for you today. Dawn Knight challenged us to use buttons on our projects. Here's mine.
So do you think I got "carried away" with all these buttons? I didn't even think of that until after I uploaded my card! Yes, there are a lot of buttons on this one...but that is the challenge! This scared little guy is Jerry. He was part of the July PMS digi release, and he comes with the sentiment. He is categorized as a monster, but I don't think he looks like one, do you? He sort of reminds me of a tiger or something in the cat family.
All those buttons are adhered to a piece of cardboard that I cut with my rectangle nestie and then cut the middle out with another nestie to make a frame. I placed the image behind the frame after I colored him. The balloon is one HUGE button!

Featured Stamper Challenge
Happy Sunday everyone! I'm back playing the SCS challenges I love! Today is the Featured Stamper challenge and Kelly, aka shirmcat, is the featured stamper! She's got a great style and there were so many cards to choose from, but I chose this one. I liked the theme of the card, the layout, and of course the buttons! So here is my version of her card.
I kept the layout, but changed pretty much everything else. The dp is SU's retired Good Morning Sunshine. Boy, am I going to miss this Summer Sun dp! I've used it so much and just love it! I punched the edges with an EK Success punch. It kind of reminded me of the trail that a bee might leave (I was planning on piercing some holes for the bee's trail, but forgot!) The flower stems are from PTI's Women of Life set and the yellow buttons are PTI's as well. The red ones are some I picked up from JoAnn's. The ribbon was from Michael's dollar bin. Love it! I stamped, colored and cut out the bee (from Buggy Sayings by PMS), then added star dust stickles to its wings. The flowers were punched with SU punches. The background was sponged with a scalloped oval and Baja Breeze ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages. I'm going to send this to a friend that hasn't been feeling well lately, and hopefully it will cheer her up!

Fairy Cottage Inspiration Challenge
I haven't played the Inspiration Challenge on SCS for a long time, and these are really my favorite challenges. So, I'm playing today even though it's very late! The website Stephanie chose was called Chasing Fireflies and this is what I chose from the sight for my inspiration.
When I saw this cottage, I knew exactly which stamp I was going to use. Here is my card.
This is The Cottage stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps. Isn't it a perfect image for the inspiration I chose? I colored it with copic markers to match the cottage in the inspiration piece, right down to the blue door! The little fairy on the roof is from the Made with Love set from PMS as well. This is actually a "made by" set you use on the back of your cards. I thought she would be perfect on the roof of the cottage throwing fairy dust onto it and saying "Have a Fairy Nice Day". I used this week's SCS sketch for this card too.

My Time to Create Color Challenge
Today is the My Time to Create Color Challenge. If you read my post yesterday, you would have seen the sneak peek collage of what the DT has done. Here is a sample of the colors Lauren Meader gave us to work with this week.
Great colors, huh? I think that just might be a Vera Bradley purse, if I'm not mistaken. So here is what I made with these fabulous colors.
When I saw these colors I had to laugh because I just did this card the other day for the PMS blog hop! So I used the same dp again! It's from a company called Pebbles Inc. and this is their Linnie Bell collection. I have another dp that coordinates with it and I just LOVE the colors...so me! I was surfing the blogs yesterday, and came across The Sweet Stop challenge blog hosted by Sweet and Sassy Stamps. They are a sketch challenge blog (I was in heaven)! I love sketches. This is their current sketch, and it worked perfectly for my image. I was out with my good stamping friend, Cheryl Rowley, on Wednesday shopping at our LSS and Michael's. We spent almost 4 hours in our LSS! Time flew! Anyway, she is a big Magnolia stamper (and on the Magnolialicious DT), so I decided to use this one she sent to me. She even colored the face in because I think this was the first one she sent me and wanted to show me how to color the face. I finished her off with the colors of the challenge in copic markers (listed below). The rest of the card is pretty straight forward.
Here is a list of the DT participating in this challenge this week, so please stop by their blogs and leave some oohs and aahs for them!
