Just Us Girls - Sketch Challenge

I'm so glad it's Saturday for a couple of reasons.  I'm going to our cabin to see my hubby who has been hunting for the past few weeks.  I'm going with my friend Eileen whose hubby is also hunting with my hubby.  It should be a nice day!  And, of course, I'm glad it's Saturday because it's time for another Just Us Girls challenge.  The first Saturday of the month always starts with a sketch, and Dana has a cool one for us...a triangle shaped card based on this sketch.
So I had to put on my geometry hat (I hated geometry in school because my teacher was a not very nice and we sort of "clashed"!) to configure this triangular shaped card.  Here's what the outcome was.
I must say it turned out better than I had anticipated.  To make the triangle so that the fold was on the left side like a regular card, I used my Cricut.  I pulled up two triangles and welded them together.  It took about 30 minutes to figure that one out to perfection, but I was proud that I was able to do it!  The paper is from My Mind's Eye called The Merry Days of Christmas.  One of the designs has the Santa face all over it.  I punched out one with a 1" punch and matted it with other papers from the pack.  I cut and embossed the Spellbinder's banner and stamped the sentiment from My Time Made Easy called Secret Santa.  The star was punched from a scrap from the paper pack, and I added the pearl flourish from Want to Scrap.  Love this little card!  It actually stands about 6" high, but looks so much smaller.

Stop by the JUGs blog for more inspiration.  We also are welcoming a new guest this week...Kim O'Connell so make sure you stop by and see the triangle cards the girls whipped up!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love your card! Of course I immediately thought of a party hat when I saw the sketch, but I love the Christmas-tree-esque card you came up with. Fabulous job!

Wonderful! I didn't think to try to make this card using my Cricut. I'm not very good at getting things welded together. Your card is lovely. The papers are so rich and so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration.
