Just Us Girls #215 - Color Challenge

Hi everyone!  We have a new color challenge this week over at Just Us GirlsMarisa chose the fabulous color palette and it happens to be my favorite!
I have been seeing these angled panels all over blogland, and as a matter of fact, Papertrey Ink has just released a die yesterday to get the perfect angled panel.  I cut one myself and just made a template of it so I could use it over and over.  Will I buy the PTI one?  Probably!  I'm a PTI junkie!
Anyway, I digress!  On this card, I cut the angled panel out of riding hood red cardstock and paired it with one of my all-time favorite pattern paper from SU which is retired called Christmas Cocoa.  The Santa image is from the Tim Holtz Collection and Stampers Anonymous.  I've always loved this image, and apparently I love it so much I purchased it twice!  Yes I have the cling mount as well as the wood mount versions!  That ever happen to you?  Be honest now!  I stamped the sentiment, from PTI's Instant Photo: Holidays, in Versamark and embossed it in white ep.  Ribbon and a snowflake button finish it off.

I actually did this card first, but I wasn't loving the way the twine looked.  To "petite".  I should have wrapped it around the panel about three times.  Hind sight is 20/20!  I reversed the colors of the panels, image, and card base from the other one.  I like the red image better I think!
Want more inspiration?  Check out these blogs.  We have a fabulous guest this month, Nancy Penir!

Hi Lisa!
Love both cards done both ways. Red against Kraft, Brown against red! And I love the ribbon and the twine. Decisions, decisions! Good thing you did both!
And I'm crazy for the angled dies, ordered them and can't wait!

What a gorgeous card! I have been in such trouble since coming to this site because I see all of these wonderful stamps that I can't live without. Your Santa image is one of them. My wish list is getting quite long. lol I love the way you used the colors, papers you chose. Everything works so beautifully together.

Lisa...your card is beautiful...but I would have to agree...the red panel looks better! Glad you showed us both of them. I am in agreement with that santa!! Putting the panel on an angel was brilliant! Enjoy your day!

Lisa, I love them both! That vintage Santa is awesome stamped in the brown and the red. Love that angled panel with the sentiment stamped straight under the image.
