Just Us Girls #234 - Wild Card: Tall and Skinny

Hi everyone!  We have a Wild Card Week over at Just Us Girls!  That means the hostess has the option to choose any type of challenge she wants.  Marisa has chosen to have us make a tall and skinny card.

This is my version.  I wasn't sure which direction I was going with this, but I just kept going until I was happy with my water colored background.  I used Tim Holtz water color paper and SU reinkers in Coastal Cabana, Cameo Coral, and Apricot Appeal.  On top of that, I added some modeling paste using the Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil.  The flower was made with the mini rolled rose die (I have such problems making these flowers...don't know why!).  The leaves were cut using a WPlus9 die.  The sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate ink and the base of the card is Going Gray and measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".

I got my color combo from this week's Colour Q challenge.  I didn't have Calypso Coral, so I used Cameo Coral.

You can see more inspiration on these blogs.  I also want to thank Calypso for being out very special guest this month.   She created some fabulous designs this month.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lisa, your card is springy and gorgeous! Those colors are great together! I have got to try the watercolored background! The added texture with the stencil paste is a great touch and the sentiment stamped in grey really pulled this all together! In short, I love your card!
(Yes, test anxiety has been building!)

This is just beautiful, Lisa! You've combined those colors so nicely on the watercolor paper...gives it a real dreamy effect! Love your little flower...I can never get them to come out right, either! And I guess I will have to break down and try that modeling paste...it gives your card such a cool effect! So glad you shared it with us at the ColourQ!
