Just Us Girls #314 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and Nancy chose stenciling!  I love my stencils and use them a lot.  They are such fun to use!

I just took a technique class with Tammy Tutterow at my local stamp store with my friend and fellow JUGs designer Cheryl Rowley.  She showed us lots of techniques using stencils that I wanted to use.  However, I needed Picket Fence paint for the technique and thought I had it, but I only had it in stain form.  The technique didn't work with the stain.  So I just went with sponging distress inks.  The tag was sponged with a few inks in the background then stenciled with the purple ink.  I stenciled part of the card base with the purple ink as well and added the sentiment and sequins.  The tag was decorated with the cute die cut skeleton and the hanging spider.  (I've been seeing so many spiders in my house lately.  One was super big and I had to trap him in a shoe box before flushing him down the toilet!  EEK!!)

I'm entering this card in the Tag You're It challenge too!

You can see more from the JUGs team and our guest on the JUGs blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

When I was a kid my father asked me," Nancy do you I know why spiders have long legs?" He replied, "To open door knobs!" It has stuck with me forever! He is such a tease. Love your card Lisa and really like that you carried the stencil from the card onto the tag as well. Have a great day!

A fun stencil that you used! And love the not-so-traditional colourcombo! (It is just for the fun stamping that it would be nice if we would have halloween overhere...) Hugs, Gerrina
