Just Us Girls #316 - Photo Week

Happy Saturday!  Before I start talking about stamping, I have to tell you that I went to see Sir Paul McCartney in concert on Thursday night!  It was a great concert!  I'm a diehard Rolling Stones fan, but the Beatles are a close second, and Paul was always my favorite Beatle!  Paul didn't put on a show like the Stones do, but it was great nonetheless.  I loved all the Beatles and Wings songs he did and Hey Jude was priceless!  He performed for 3 hours and did two encores!  So much fun!

Ok, back to stamping!  This week over at Just Us Girls it's Photo Week.  Ina chose this graphic photo for us to be inspired by.

I think almost everyone did something with those hexagons...how could you not?  I saw that potted succulent plant and immediately thought of this Mama Elephant stamp set I had, so I started with that.  I die cut and stamped it then colored it with copics.  I added some Wink of Stella to it too.  Then I took some desert storm paper and added some texture paste with a Tim Holtz honeycomb stencil. That panel was accented with some polka dot paper, the die cut sentiment, and some enamel dots and was adhered to a black panel.  That panel was popped up with fun foam.  The potted plant was also popped up for dimension.  That's it!  Ob-la-di, ob-la-da!  (A Beatles's song...sorry.  I can't get those songs out of my head!)

Stop by our JUGs blog to see what the team and our guest has as inspiration for you.

Thanks for stopping by!

A beautiful card Lisa!
Oh... I Love sir Paul! We went to a concert last year and enjoyed every moment! Also a 3 hour event non stop. We couldn't believe how fit he is at his age! Just amazing!

Lisa, I was curious to see what the team did with this photo. I would be difficult for me to come up with something. I love what you did with the subtle hexagon background and the design works so well. Love it.

Fun to see that you went for a different item! That plant looks so fresh! And the hexagons look good as a background. Enjoy the weekend!

Lucky Lisa getting to see Paul Mc (my favourite) in the flesh. Would love to have seen The Beatles in their hayday. Like most of us from that era we all loved them Eight Days a Week (couldn't help myself hehe)
Now onto your card - you certainly found some fabulous elements for this card. Love the textured hex background and the touch of colours you picked from the photo. Great job.

Love this! The embossing paste hexagons with the yellow pot and plants is so cool. The red polka dot strip and enamel dots are the perfect accents on this. You have been to some amazing concerts lately, lucky girl!
