Something You Don't See Everyday....

I teach in a school in a town just outside of Buffalo, NY. The airport is about two miles from the school, so we have airplanes flying overhead all the time. We get a great view of them flying in from our faculty lunch room window. So guess what I saw flying in today?

Yep....Air Force One carrying President Obama! He visited Buffalo today for a few hours and this big bird flew directly over our school! I wish our kids could have seen it, but their lunch room does not have windows. One of our 5th grade teachers took his kids outside for lunch in anticipation of seeing it, but it started to rain!

It was definitely a cool site to see! Something you don't see everyday...

aren't these out-of-the-ordinary moments fun? Well, I guess it depends on the event, haha. I was in junior high when the OJ Simpson trial was going on, and we had the tvs on in almost every single classroom for a week solid. And my older brother was in elementary school watching the launch of the space shuttle Challenger when it exploded. Hmm... I think I need some happier childhood memories, haha.

Too COOL, Lisa!!! Thanks for sharing that exciting moment. I think one of my most exciting was having my gym club host a Canada/Romania meet in February 1976 just prior to the Olympics in Montreal that same year. The Romanian team worked out in our gym club and that meant NADIA. I even had a friend take a picture of me sitting beside her at the invitational meet, but it sadly got destroyed when my children left my scrap book out in our damp basement!! AH Well, you can't destroy the memory!!
