So Fortunate - My Time Made Easy

Hi everyone! Have you recovered from all the holidays? I'm finally relaxing and enjoying getting inky again! And it's back to work tomorrow...not happy about that! I could use another week, but I'm not going to complain!

Today I have more inspiration from My Time Made Easy's So Fortunate template and stamp set (if you click on the link it will take you to all the fun new products being released this month). I'm really lovin' this release! I hope you are too. If you missed yesterday's group post, you can scroll down one post or go to Lauren's blog to see the lineup of fantastic posts the girls did! Here's mine for today.

I love that blossom branch in the So Fortunate set that Catherine Doucette illustrated. Today I used vellum for my project. I don't use it a lot, but I was googling Chinese takeout boxes and saw that some came in vellum. So I decided to give it a try.
I was hoping to use vellum cardstock, but couldn't find any in my stash until AFTER I had my project done! I knew I had some, but I had to use regular vellum instead! It's a bit flimsy for anything heavy, but I wasn't putting anything in this one, so it held up just fine. I think if you put a battery operated candle inside (like Monique did here), it would be perfect! I just stuffed mine with some iridescent filler. I think these would be pretty decorations for a bridal shower.I think my favorite stamp from this set is that lantern. The pattern inside the lantern is another image, so you can leave the lantern blank if you wish, but I just love the look of the flowers/leaves. The Chinese symbols have words beneath them on the stamp, but I chose just to ink up the symbol. I love the way this looks! I added some star dust stickles to the flowers and lantern, which you can't really see. I just used Memento tuxedo black ink and colored the flower/leaves with copic markers on the back side of the vellum. I used the vellum technique on the card. I backed it with white cardstock so it stands out more. The pink cardstock is SU's Pink Passion. I don't know when that one was retired, but I have a stack of it because I don't usually use such a bright color! The ribbon is just something from my ribbon drawer that matched perfectly.

Lauren , Catherine , Katie, and Kristin are also posting some projects today, so stop over to their blogs to see what they've come up with.

Thanks for stopping in today. I'll be back tomorrow with a Paper Makeup Stamps new release. Go to the PMS blog to see some of the new sneaks that started today! Some fun stuff! See you tomorrow!
