Just Us Girls #149 - Technique Challenge and Pretty Palette #68

Hi everyone!  I'm hosting this week's Just Us Girls Technique Challenge.  I chose to challenge everyone to use up your ribbon scraps.  I have a jar full of colorful ribbon scraps and I do use them, but I have so many I really need to use them up more!

This card is also for the Pretty Palette challenge.  I love the richness of these colors!

This is what I came up with for this challenge.  I chose to use the Seas the Day cut file from My Time Made Easy.  I cut it out of cream cardstock then adhered the chocolate, saffron, and red grosgrain ribbons to the back, covering up the openings.  I love the way this looks!  I added a piece of chocolate chip cardstock for the pole and a put another ribbon scrap on top for the flag.  The button adds some interest.  I sponged some clouds and I wished I would have added a horizon.  Looking at it now, I realized that what was missing!  Lastly, I drew in some birds with a fine point marker.  The red pattern paper is a retired SU one called Cerise.  The sentiment is from MTME called Sign It
