Time Out #95 - Theme Challenge

Hey friends!  There's a new challenge over at Time Out and this time it's a Theme challenge.  The theme is sympathy, and there's an optional twist of distressing.

I needed two sympathy cards for friends who lost their pets within days of each other.  One was a total surprise and passed unexpectedly.  The other was quite old, but still a sad loss.  I pulled out this pet sympathy set from Papertrey Ink.  I die cut a heart from red cardstock and stamped the paw prints across the heart.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed it in white embossing powder.  The heart was spritzed with shimmer spritz and layered onto a white cardstock impressed with an impression plate.  This was layered onto black cardstock onto a white card base.

On the inside, I stamped this beautiful sentiment and heart.

You can see more from the Time Out design team and our guest for this challenge, Sue, on the Time Out blog.  We are also sponsored by Happy Little Stampers for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lisa, what a beautiful thought to make sympathy cards for pet owners. I love how you linked the image with the lovely sentiment and I'm sure your friends were very touched by your kind thoughts. It's really tough losing a furry friend x

I have never thought of sympathy cards for pets but can see how much they would be needed and think this is a lovely idea. Your card is perfect with the little paw prints and like how you added the little red heart in the centre. x

This is an absolutely beautiful card for to acknowledge the loss of a pet. Love the paw prints on the heart, and the sentiment embossed on black. Lovely.

Sympathy card for losing a pet is a great idea, I don't think you can find these ready-made in stores and loosing a pet makes every pet owner sad -I definitely do not want to think about the day my dog will leave this world! I love the paw prints in the heart, great design and just perfect for this challenge.

I love that you created a sympathy card for a pet owner - it is such a kind and thoughtful gesture - for so many of us, our pets are our family and their loss is absolutely devastating. A beautiful card for a sad occasion - I am sure that your friends were truly touched by your kind gesture. Hugs, Jill
