Time Out Reminder

Hi everyone!  I had to make a card for a fellow teacher who retired.  I thought about a gift for her, and settled on a Barnes & Noble gift card.  She's a reading teacher, so I thought this old set from Papertrey Ink would be perfect for her card.

This is such a simple card, but when I say it took FOREVER to make please believe me!  I stamped the image I think four times due to smudges.  Then I dropped a stamp pad on the main panel just as I was ready to mount it on the base.  I inked another (the background is sponged with ink) and spattered it with that dark pink ink...I hated it, so I started over!  Then I didn't like the original pattern paper, so I changed that.  Yikes!  This is the final result, and I'm just ok with it, but it had to do!  I hope my friend likes it.  I stamped another sentiment about reading and Happy Retirement on the inside and put it in the envelope!

I'm also adding it to the Remind post over at the Time Out blog.  The theme is hobbies.

This made me giggle as I did the same the other day. A card took forever and I kept making mistakes...which I usually just cover up!! This card doesn’t look to me like it took a little time. It looks very detailed. The colours are so vibrant and I adore you went with pink for the silhouette, very unique x

Love that we used the same stamp set. This card was worth all the work--it happens to me sometimes--the cards I think will be so quick and simple end up taking forever with multiple do overs. Love the unusual color choices...they are fantastic and happy.

Thanks for the belly laugh as I read your post. We have all been there, and will be there again I am sure. In the end, your card turned out beautifully. I love the set (and that you and Joyce both used it - I am inspired to pull mine out). I love the colors and the paper... just wonderful.I am sure it will be appreciated.

I did the same thing with my last TO card, Lisa ... there must've been six versions by the time it was done ... so I feel your frustration!! This turned out beautifully in the end ... that's such a lovely dreamy image ... and the colours are fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
