Just Us Girls #266 - Trend Week

Hi all!  It's Trend Week over at Just Us Girls, and Chris chose the chalkboard effect.  I've never tried this technique so it was a fun one for me!

My board looks very chalky (like my real boards in my classroom!), but it doesn't look this white in person.  I watched a Papertrey Ink Make It Monday video on this technique.  Betsy Veldman did it and I took my inspiration from her card.  I stamped all the images in Versamark and embossed them in white powder.  Then I smudged the black cardstock with some white pigment ink.  Like Betsy did, I used a white pencil and drew it frame around it.  Then I inked up each of the images in white and stamped them over the embossed images offset a bit.  The lace was added to the top.  This whole panel was popped up on dimensionals.

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches as the inspiration for the layout of my card.

You can see more inspiration from our DT and November Guest on these blogs.

What an awesome chalkboard! Love how you stamped the second time offset. Great idea to draw the chalk lines to frame this.
