Homemade Card and Envelope MTME Group Post

Hi everyone! Today the My Time Made Easy girls are doing a group post showcasing the new Homemade Card and Envelop cut file. It's a cool cut file that sells for the amazing low price of $2.50! If you have a Cricut and SCAL program, it's a must have to compliment your Shop Around Mega Template. Here's what I did with it...minus the envelope!
I was going to create an envelope, but I started playing around with the size of this card in SCAL and didn't keep track, so no envelope! You can see what this looks like with an envelope here and here. (You can also go to the MTME Gallery here to see all the ones done with this cut file! The gallery is a great resource!)

So what I did was call up the card in SCAL, reduce it to 50%, copied it so I had two cards, flipped one and placed it so the tops of the houses overlapped, then welded the two together at the top of the house. When it cut out, all I had to do was score it and fold it in half. It sounds difficult, but really it's super easy.

The paper the card was cut on was first printed with the Citrus Peel digital paper. I loved the colors in this set of papers. The house was stamped from the Sign It stamp set and colored with copic markers. I wanted it to look "splotchy", sort of like a stucco house. The sign and sentiment are from the same set. I used the grass image from Home Improvement stamp set for the bottom of the card. I added a trim of brown crystals where the house and roof meet (and one for the door knob too) and some star dust stickles for some shimmer and was done! I know someone who is building a new home and I think I'll send this off....you only imagine, dream, and believe how your new home will look in three-dimension from a one-dimensional drawing!

Thanks for stopping in today! Stop by the My Time blog to get links to the other girls' blogs and creations! I just realized I don't have them linked on my sidebar yet...that'll be a weekend project because I'm back to work. Today was the first day of school for me with kids and I'm beat! Is it Friday yet? Hahaha!!! See you on Saturday for a new JUGs technique challenge!

Fresh, fun and FABULOUS Lisa - love the color pallet - the striped paper (WTG Kristin!) and how you welded it in SCAL - I did that with one and it really is easy and makes for a great card. WTG!!!
