Time Out #39 Reminder

Hi everyone!  The current Time Out challenge is in its second week.  I'm posting a reminder here for you.  The challenge is called Make Your Mark...meaning use any medium to color with!  Markers, pencils, watercolors, copics, etc.  You choose!

I recently purchased the Ken Oliver Color Bursts (in every color!) and was playing with them one day.  I wasn't happy with the result, so I set it aside.  When thinking about that piece, I thought a part of it might look good in a shaker card.  So that is what I did.  I die cut a butterfly from the center of a piece of white cardstock as well as from some fun foam.  I cut a piece of the watercolored paper to put behind the butterfly and adhered it to the card base.  I created the shaker element by sandwiching a piece of acetate between the fun foam and the cardstock I die cut the butterfly from.  Then I put some sequins on the watercolored piece and adhered the shaker element on top.  Easy peasy!  The die cut sentiment was die cut from the same watercolored piece.  Love how it has a sort of ombre look.

You can see more from the Time Out designers on the Time Out blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Never heard of those color bursts, but the effect sure looks fun. Love the pattern you've got going on in the space behind your butterfly and also in your sentiment.

I hadn't heard of colour bursts before, Lisa ... what a brilliant effect ... lovely merged/ombré colours behind the butterfly and in the sentiment ... fabulous with the shimmery sequins! Hugs, Anita :)
