Just Us Girls #568 - Photo Week

Hi there!  It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Carol chose this really cool photo for inspiration.

The first thing I thought of was this City Block background stamp from MFT.  I stamped it in Versamark ink and embossed it with antique gold embossing powder on black cardstock.  It looks so cool in person!  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle.  Then I went to work on the sentiment die cut.  It's also from MFT and was die cut from some gold paper as well as twice from black cardstock and stacked for dimension.  I die cut a piece of black cardstock with the same stitched rectangle die and cut it to size to fit the sentiment.  I die cut a larger stitched rectangle from the same gold paper and added the black piece to it.  I left it without crystals (I had a hard time doing this!) so I could use it as a masculine card.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our January guests on the JUGs blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s so cool how inspiration can take us places we never might have imagined otherwise! Love the idea that came to you, and the cool effect you achieved with the gold embossing on black, Lisa. Just two colours, but oh so effective!

That is such a great stamp, Lisa. Perfect for the challenge and also for a masculine card. I'm sure it is elegant in real life.
