Time Out #155 - Inspired by Words

Hi friends!  Our new challenge over at the Time Out blog is the Inspired by Words challenge.  You can see the quote on the graphic below.

We are sponsored by Uniko for this challenge and we are celebrating their birthday!  Congrats on another year!  We are also celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day, which is on February 17.  You can read more about both of these celebrations on the Time Out blog.

For my card, I used the Block Party Birthday stamp from Uniko.  This is such a cool stamp because there are so many techniques you can use with it.  Today I used it with a Taylored Expressions rectangle mask stencil.  I first stamped the image with Versafine onyx black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I placed the stencil over the middle part of the stamp and blended tumbled glass distress ink on it.  I masked off that area with the stencil and blended salty ocean distress ink around it.  I then used copic markers to color in the letters and added shimmer to them.  The darker blue is much darker in real life than what it shows in the picture.  It looks more dramatic.

You can see more from the Time Out design team and our guest for this challenge, Sue, on the

Thanks for stopping by!

Wow this is a really cool technique and I do love how you used this mask and sponging, it gives the whole card such a fun look, which suits the card so well. And colouring the sentiment fits perfectly. I love this Lisa x

Fabulous way to highlight different parts of that fun background stamp. It really feels like there is a party going on right on your card front.
