12 Tags of 2013 - October

Happy Columbus Day to my American friends!  I spent the weekend at our cabin and today I was off so I went shopping!  I was at my LSS and the mall.  I sure did spend a lot of money.  I guess I should work more and not have so much time on my hands!  LOL!!

So while I was at my LSS, I purchased this moon and owl die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.  I cut them out of grungeboard, applied glossy accents to it, then sprinkled on the distress glitter.  I used mustard seed on the moon and tarnished brass on the owl.  I wish I had the black glitter for this, but that's on its way to me as we speak!  I set them aside to dry and went to work on the tag background.  I applied antique linen, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, and dusty concord distress paints on the craft mat, spritzed it with water and dragged the tag through it.  Love the way it came out.  Then I added some dusty concord and mustard seed distress inks on top and spritzed with water to get the water droplet effect.   I applied dusty concord distress ink through the bubble stencil, then applied clear embossing powder over it.  The owl and moon were adhered with glossy accents and I stamped the images with black archival ink.  I also took some peach seam binding and added some dusty concord ink to it.

I learned this technique at Tim's Chemistry 102 class.  I'm also going to enter this in his 12 Tags of 2013-October blog post and Our Creative Corner It's Halloween Let's Tag It On.

Thanks for stopping by!
